Hundreds of Royal Sutton Fun Runners donned fancy dress at this year’s event as they raised cash for good causes
The Royal Sutton Fun Run returned to the streets and park in Sutton Coldfield for its 40th running on Sunday (June 4), and thousands took part in blistering sunshine.
And among them were brave souls wearing fancy dress or heaving huge objects like a Royal Mail delivery van. It’s one thing to take on the 8.5 mile undulating course in a running vest, trainers and shorts. But quite another to do it in full hedgehog outfit or dressed as a Nintendo gaming character.
But with the outfits come the cheers and the added motivation to get to the finish line and help get the event to the tantalisingly close target of raising £5 million for good causes over its history. The outfits certainly made them stand out from the crowd and those wearing them said it was worth it.
