Unexpectedly in the early hours of Saturday 6th December 2025 Russell aged 63 years sadly passed away at home in Tunstall surrounded by close family. The much loved husband of Debra, loving dad to Clare and Laura, father in law to Andrew and the late Mark, a much loved grandad to Toni, Jordan, Ayla, Alana, Alyza and Lyall, son in law to Florence, a dearly loved brother of Linda, Joyce and the late Maureen, brother in law to Mike, Eddie, Lesley, Yvonne and Hillary also uncle and friend to many. Russell will be deeply missed and touched the lives of many who knew him.

Now at peace in the presence of his loving family, on Thursday 4th December 2025, at the Royal Stoke University Hospital. Harry aged 79 years of Kidsgrove. A devoted Husband of Christine, super Dad of Andrew and Catherine, a dear Father-in-law of Mark and Debbie, proud Grandad of Simon, Christopher and Chelcie, a cherished Great Grandad Barney of Alfie, Toby, Chester and Theo. It is with sadness to announce the passing of Barbara on 3rd December 2025, at RSUH, aged 89 years. Beloved wife to her late husband Geoffrey and reunited with her late siblings Dorothy, Leslie and Roy, may they all rest in eternal peace. Barbara, a devoted mum to Susan and her partner Charlie, a friend to many over the years, with a special mention to her bestest of friends Jayne, Graham, Angela and her neighbour Ian for their support, kindness and friendship over the years. She will be missed.

Arthur ‘Alan’ TREHERNE
The obituary notice of Arthur Alan (known as Alan) TREHERNE of Madeley who passed away peacefully on Thursday 4th December 2025 in the presence of loving family in the Belong Care Home in Newcastle-under-Lyme, aged 87. Dearly beloved and loving husband of 63 years to Roberta, much loved and respected father to Fiona and Sue, dear father-in-law to Adrian and Steve, much loved and treasured Grandad to Sam, Jasmine and Isobel, and loving brother to Stuart, brother-in-law to Sherna and uncle to Matthew and Louisa, Alan will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all his family and many friends and colleagues. Alan was a lecturer in Philosophy and Mathematics at Keele University from 1967 and then Head of Keele’s Computer Science Department from 1988 until his retirement in July 1999. He was a member of Madeley Parish Council for over 20 years, including a period serving as Chairman, and a Council Member of the Antiquarian Horological Society from 1977-2018, being appointed a Fellow of the Society (FAHS) in 2020.
Alan’s funeral service will take place at 2.00pm on Monday 22nd December 2025 at Madeley Methodist Church, Poolside, Madeley, CW3 9DX and will be followed by light refreshments on the Church premises.
