IONIA — The Ionia post office soon may bear the name of Civil War hero Alonzo Woodruff, under a bill passed by the U.S. House. Introduced by U.S. Rep. Vern Ehlers, the bill honors Woodruff, who won the Medal of Honor for bravery in the 1864 battle of Hatcher’s Run in Virginia.
