Senate Bill Would Save Post Office Closings

Tuesday the U.S. Senate approved an amendment put forth by Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Portland, prohibiting the closure of many rural post offices. The Imnaha Post Office, on the chopping block last summer, could be saved if the House passes the amendment.
