PHOTO FROM MONROE’S PAST: Post office name changes from Stepney to Monroe

In 1964, the Stepney Depot post office was renamed the Monroe post office. It was located in a small one-story building on Main Street (Route 25). Shown below holding the old sign is Postmistress Elizabeth Carris.
