Bill would restrict food stamps to healthy fare
La Crosse Tribune Dean Kaufert, a Republican from Neenah, would cut the use of food stamps on junk food. In other words, for people in FoodShare, the state's nutrition assistance program, it's out with the Cheetos, Coca-Cola and Suzy Qs and in with the leafy produce.
