Bob Stamps, 65, a professor of environmental horticulture at the University of Florida's Research and Education Center in Apopka, was elected recently as a fellow of the American Society for Horticultural Science. Planning to retire this month, Stamps spent much of his 35-year career testing water conservation methods for farmers. Stamps recently spoke with staff writer Kevin Spear .
