Union labels Royal Mail strike pay poll as 'desperate' and 'spurious'

Union chiefs accused Royal Mail of “desperation” after the firm published a poll showing most people opposed a postal strike. The company released results of a MORI survey showing 72% of respondents thought the Communication Workers Union should accept a pay offer and call off plans to strike.
