Harry and Meghan ‘hire THIRD nanny in six weeks’ for baby Archie

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are believed to have taken on a third nanny for baby Archie in six weeks after two stopped working for them.

Meghan has lost a growing number of staff since her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018 – including a bodyguard, personal assistant and private secretary.

It is not known whether the previous two nannies left voluntarily or were asked to leave.

However, royal sources said that the couple’s decision in choosing a nanny for Archie, who is just six weeks old, was ‘deeply personal’ and ‘depends on the needs of the baby and parents’.

‘Often there are different needs at different stages of the baby’s life. The first nanny was a night nurse,’ the source told The Sun.

They added: ‘But Harry and Meghan do not want to rush this or take any risks getting this decision right.

‘It’s deeply personal and can depend on the needs of the baby and parents.’

Earlier this month, it was reported by US magazine Harper’s Bazaar that a new ‘British-born female nanny’ had been hired for baby Archie.

However, the new nanny is not ‘permanently based at Frogmore Cottage or working weekends,’ the report added.

It was reported on June 13 that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had hired a nanny for baby Archie, according to a royal biographer. Katie Nicholl, who has written a series of biographies on the royal family, claimed that hands-on parents Prince Harry, 34 and Meghan, 37, asked the royal childminder to sign an 'extensive' non-disclosure agreement

However the nanny was not said to be on call for night shifts, with maternal Meghan staying up to nurse her then one-month-old baby – who is reportedly a ‘very hungry’ little boy.

Katie told Entertainment Online: ‘I’ve heard from very reliable sources that the new nanny who has been appointed by the Sussexes has had to sign quite an extensive non-disclosure agreement.

‘Meghan’s been up in the night nursing, feeding on demand every few hours. Apparently he’s a hungry little baby.’

And speaking about how Meghan is letting her body heal naturally she added: ‘Meghan hasn’t been hitting the gym – she hasn’t been in any hurry to get back into shape. No hard training. No weights. She’s enjoying this time, she’s being gentle to herself.’

The departures of the previous two nannies are the latest in a series of changes in the couple’s staff.

Last November, Melissa Toubati, Meghan’s PA, quit after six months, with reports that she had been left in tears.

A few weeks later, the couple’s private secretary, Samantha Cohen, left her role after 17 years with the Royal family.

And in January Meghan’s female bodyguard departed after just six months.

As well as these departures, assistant private secretaries Amy Pickerall and Heather Wong have also left in recent weeks.

The Sussexes are understood to have snubbed the royal traditional of hiring a Norland nanny, and could even have employed a male aid for their newborn.

Meghan is said to have enlisted the help of staff at a specialist recruitment agency.

Speaking to the Mirror in April, a source said that the modern royal couple have clear ideas on how they will be bringing up their child.

‘Meghan was clear in telling recruiters she favours an American over a Brit and wants them to feel part of the family rather than a uniformed member of staff.

‘That is important to her; she’s never hidden the fact she is fiercely proud of her American roots.

‘They are keen to explore the possibility of a male nanny. The worker will earn up to £70,000-a-year, depending on experience’.

Any candidates would be interviewed by the royal couple. If successful, they would be based at their newly renovated Frogmore Cottage in the grounds of Windsor Castle, as well as having the use of a car.

The recruitment agency, based in Kensington, West London, is said to specialise in providing bilingual children minders as well as favoured Norland nannies.

Kate and William are known to have hired a graduate of the Bath college of Norland nannies, Spaniard Maria Teresa Borrallo.

This is while only a handful of men are known to have attended the Norland school, with the first two having graduated just last year.

The Duchess made her first post-baby appearance three weeks ago, when she paid respect to the Queen’s birthday as she attended Trooping the Colour.

Meghan and Harry welcomed their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, on Monday, May 6.

The little boy received a visit from Prince Harry’s grandparents, the Queen and Prince Phillip, a few days after his birth, alongside Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland.

Grandmother Doria, who had been staying with the family at Frogmore Cottage since before the birth, has since returned to her hometown of LA.
