The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have led royal well-wishes to Prince George as he celebrates his sixth birthday.
Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, took to Instagram to send their nephew ‘lots of love’ on his special day.
The couple are understood to enjoy a close relationship with the young prince and Meghan was seen spending time with George on a family day out to the polo this month.
The Sussexes wrote: ‘Happy Birthday! Wishing you a very special day and lots of love!’ They shared the message alongside a balloon and cake emoji.
Notably, the couple chose not to use the prince’s name. It comes after they faced accusations of being too ‘informal’ by not using Charlotte and Louis’ titles in their birthday messages.

The short but sweet message was shared in the comments section of a Kensington Palace post celebrating the prince’s birthday.
The post, which was only shared only an hour ago, already has over 1000 likes and over 100 replies with many thinking the messages was sweet.
Some fans have said that Harry and Meghan are ‘the best uncle and aunt ever’, while others have just joined them in wishing him a happy birthday.
The official Instagram for the England football team, obviously happy that he was in one of their tops, also wished the little prince a happy birthday. They said: ‘Happy birthday, Prince George! Great choice of shirt.’
Harry and Meghan previously shared an informal message from their official Sussex Royal Instagram account to Princess Charlotte, writing: ‘Happy Birthday Charlotte! Lots of love, H & M xo’

The three pictures – released by Kensington Palace mark the future king’s sixth birthday today and were taken by the duchess, a talented amateur photographer.
‘The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share three new photographs of Prince George to mark His Royal Highness’s sixth birthday,’ Kensington Palace said.
While royals fans have also gone wild pointing out the likeness to his father – Prince William, at that age.
Fans were quick to comment on how similar the young prince looked to William, 37, with his beaming smile and blonde locks.

Reports suggest that the pictures were taken at Kensington Palace during the England ‘lionesses’ recent World Cup campaign, the top is one of his favourite items of clothing and George can frequently be seen haring around Kensington Palace with a football at his feet.
In the snap, the future king laughs as he lies playfully in the garden of their home at Kensington Palace – clad in the white England football home shirt.
A second photograph again shows George in the shirt, grinning gleefully at the camera, while a third picture shows the young prince on a family holiday just a few days ago.
Royal official have not confirmed where the family are, although reports suggest they may have flown with Kate’s family to the exclusive Caribbean island of Mustique.
But George is clearly enjoying soaking up the sun, wearing a pair of blue and white stripped swimming shorts over which Kate has quickly thrown a favoured green polo shirt – a snip from High Street store H&M at just £6.
Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge was born in the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, at 4.24pm on July 22 2013, weighing 8lb 6oz.
He made his public debut in front of the world’s media on the hospital steps one day later, wrapped in a white merino wool shawl, cradled in his proud parents’ arms.
