Hilarious photos show public posing with royals on famous balcony during visits to Buckingham Palace

Two lengths of red cloth make up the Royal Trust Collection’s version of Buckingham Palace’s famous balcony. Behind this family, who look ecstatic to be visiting the palace’s state rooms, the royal family are pictured during this year’s Trooping of the colour on June 8, 2019. One comment on this Instagram post reads: ‘Awesome’ as friends show their love for the pictures

This woman, with the Instagram username brenruesch, captioned her picture ‘What a grand day!’. She joins the royal family in looking up as they try to see the flypast. Unlike others, who chose to stand directly in front of the Queen, this woman chooses to stand slightly to the side, blocking the Duchess of Cornwall instead

These men, who have written their caption in Catalan, indicating they may be from Catalonia – an autonomous region of Spain – have made the wise decision to stand as far to the side of the family as possible. This enables them to blend almost seamlessly in to the royal family portrait. This image is less cropped than others and shows the ornamental golden tassels

Standing alone this man, with the Instagram username travelexplorelearnshare, says: ‘After visited Buckingham Palace I had a picture taken with the Royal Family. The second picture shows me having a private talk with the Queen.’ He too looks up to mimic watching the flypast, where the Royal Airforce’s Red Arrows sped over the palace, to celebrate the Queen’s birthday

This family took the theme of looking up to pretend to be watching the flypast to the next level as the craned their necks. Father and daughter stand either side of the Queen, leaning in to her as they gawp upwards. Standing further over the the left another boy, who could be the man’s son, seems to want to join the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s family

This pair, who look like mother and daughter, seem to be looking in a different direction to the royal family as pretend to watch the flypast. The young girl on the left seems to blend with the royal family more seamlessly than her mother, as her size allows her to stand in front of the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall without blocking anyone

These adorable children have donned outfits fit for the occasion ready for their photograph with the royal family. Standing in front of a Trooping of the Colour image of the family from 2018 the boy and girl, who are likely to be brother and sister, smile towards the camera while wearing Tudor-style monarchical gowns

Also choosing to stand in front of the Duchess of Cambridge this woman, whose Instagram username is loulemmers, looks up as she joins the royal family on the balcony. Perhaps partly ruining the illusion is the fact the actual top of the balcony can still be seen in these images – making it look like the visitors are standing on another balcony in front of the original

Wearing a red t-shirt and jeans this woman must have missed the royal family Whatsapp message explaining the Trooping of the Colour dress code. In any case, she seems to be enjoying herself as she looks upwards for her photo. The woman, whose Instagram username is oxanamenyakina, captions her post: ‘When the queen is on vacation’

As her son shades his eyes from the imaginary light this woman points upwards, copying Prince Louis’s pose. She has captioned her post: ‘A joint picture with the royal family after an audience. Prince Charles kindly showed us his possessions in central London, his best rooms, including the throne room. While mom is not at home. By the way, this is the only place where you can take pictures in the palace’

With broad smiles on their faces this mother and son pose in front of royalty. Kelly Williams even continues the joke with the hashtag ‘pretend family’. While the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s children may have looked less than impressed by the display this young boy looks thrilled as he gazes upwards

This couple claim to like Buckingham Palace more than Versailles as they post their holiday snaps to Instagram. Erica Fordiani captioned her picture: ‘Photography wasn’t allowed in the palace. There are great pictured online if you google it though. I liked this tour more than Versailles. The palace is beautiful’

While other visitors are able to fit in with the family without blocking anyone these men, who appear to be taller than every member in the royal family, tower above the Queen. Kindly they allow her space between them, and stand in front of her sons Charles, Prince of Wales, and Prince Andrew, Duke of York

Remy Navida posted this image of her tour around Buckingham Palace to Instagram. While the young girl with her knows the look up Remy is too focused on posing for the camera. Hugo places his hand in front of his forehead as he glances up in to the sky. He seems to have gained inspiration for his pose from Princess Charlotte who shaded her eyes from the bright sun and she watched the flypast during the Trooping of the Colour, the Queen’s birthday parade
