TechHQ partners with eCommerce Expo for 2019 return

TechHQ is a media partner of eCommerce Expo 2019, returning next month for its second annual conference dedicated to the e-commerce and MarTech industry.

Descending on the London Olympia on September 25-26 in association with IMRG, ticket-holders also gain access to the co-located Technology for Marketing & ad:tech conference and expos.

Attracting an estimated 15,000 delegates from the worlds of B2B and B2C, the two-day combined conference comprises a landmark event at the bleeding edge of innovation in commerce.

The return of the eCommerce Expo 2019 comes as e-commerce continues to represent one of the fastest-growing industries globally.

As tech giants such as Amazon and Alibaba continue to lay the gauntlet, retailers are becoming reliant on innovative, data-powered solutions to optimize spend across all rungs of the supply-chain– as reducing time between click and delivery becomes one of the bloodiest fights in e-commerce.

At the same time, retailers must remain focused on delivering a customer experience to match, driving engagement and loyalty among consumers with more high-quality choice than ever before.

The new connected age for commerce will manifest at eCommerce Expo 2019, seeing backstage powerhouses like Snapfulfil, OrderWise, Khaos Control and Sanderson rub shoulders with consumer-facing, household brands under one roof. The exhibition floor will feature 150 leading suppliers in total, including IBM, Amazon, UKFast, Royal Mail Group, Magento, Barclay Card, Global-e and more.

E-commerce experts

When it comes to market expertise, the eCommerce Expo 2019 agenda is set to play out across 12 stages, with 300 speakers on hand to deliver more than 150 hours of content.

A world-class lineup includes the likes of BirchBox Managing Director, Sally Scott, Gucci’s Head of Strategic Gamification, Anders Holmberg Lange, IBM’s Global VP of Innovation and New Technologies, Rene Bostic, and Pizza Hut International’s Chief E-commerce Officer and GM, Angela Cearns.

Ahead of speaking at eCommerce Expo 2019, Robin Phillips, former eCommerce Director at Waitrose and CEO of the UK’s largest independent online watch business The Watch Shop, responded on some of the key challenges faced by industry members today to be addressed in London next month.

“The cost of competing with Amazon Prime as it consistently raises the bar for customer expectations for fulfillment,” said Phillips.

“I think we’ll see retailers increasingly sharing their infrastructure with each other– warehousing, delivery fleets, stores, collection and returns points– to keep pace.

Other pressing debates will play out across sessions including ‘What is the formula of innovation?’, where University of Cambridge e-commerce management professor, Angela Cearns, will explore the lessons the industry can learn from Silicon Valley tech giants.

A panel featuring experts from BirchBox and Hellofresh, meanwhile, will explore the workings of the subscription model, and whether it spells the future for e-commerce, while IMRG will explore a range of technical subjects on how to optimize customer journeys and site layout to drive maximum sales.
