Royal Mail are looking for posties in Reading and here’s what they are paying

Royal Mail is looking for postal workers to help out during of the busiest time of the year.

The company is hiring staff in Reading to cope with increased demand at Christmas.

On the run up to the holiday, the company has to deal with thousands of extra letters and parcels as people get into the festive spirit, ordering more online and sending cards to loved ones.

As a result, bosses are looking to hire casual Christmas processing post people.

 

What does the job involve?

Workers will unload mail and parcels from the vans, move them around the warehouses and sort them so they arrive at their destination safely.

What are the hours like?

New employees will be clocking into work at the Reading Mail Processing Unit in Gillette Way, Reading, Berkshire.

A range of shifts are on offer, but typical shifts at the Reading centre are lates, from 2pm to 10pm.

What are the wages?

Royal Mail is looking for Christmas sorting office staff

 

Anyone who successfully applies will get an hourly rate of £9, which goes up to £9.91 if working the night shift.

Applicants will have to be able to work to deadlines, be able to keep their focus, and should be adaptable to the demands of the job.

Some physical activity will be required.

Staff will have to push trolleys up to 250kg, and have to stand for long periods as well.

No previous experience is needed.
