On Monday, the funeral is being held for Ryan Saltern from Truro who lost his life at St Teath last month.

An appeal to help the 31-year-old’s wife and little boy has raised over £11,000.

In a tribute after his death, Ryan’s family said: “He touched the hearts of many and his memory will live on forever”.

“Ryan was an exceptional, loving, kind and happy husband, father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, son-in-law, brother-in-law, cousin, and best friend to many.

“He will be severely missed and the devastation has affected not just our family, but everyone who was lucky enough to have met him.

“He touched the hearts of many and his memory will live on forever”.

Ryan’s funeral will be held at 11am at Truro Cathedral, followed by a celebration of his life at Lanhydrock Golf and Country Club.

His family and friends are inviting anyone who knew Ryan to pay tribute, and welcome wearing red or a symbol of the colour.

That is to represent Ryan’s love for Manchester United and his role within the Royal Mail.

Donations can be made to ‘MIND’ or the bereavement charity, Penhaligon’s Friends, through Denise Wellington Funeral Services.

“The Saltern family would like to thank everyone for your kind and comforting words and overwhelming generosity.

“All money raised will be passed to Cath. Mark and I will be paying for Ryan’s funeral but his wake (celebration of Ryan’s life) will be paid for from the money donated on the Just Giving Page, the remaining money will help support Cath and Harry through these difficult times ahead.

“Thank you again for all your kindness and support at this extremely devastating time”.
