Mark Thomson appointed to PSA Board  |

The Phone-paid Services Authority has appointed Mark Thomson to its Board of Directors.

Thomson is currently Director General for Her Majesty’s Passport Office, UK Visas and Immigration and sits as an executive member on the Home Office Board. His three-year term will begin on 1st January 2020.

David Edmonds CBE, Chairman of the PSA, said: “I’m delighted that Mark Thomson is joining the Board. Mark brings a great range of experience and perspectives from his background in both business and public service. The selection panel was impressed by his strengths in strategic planning and effective implementation”.

Thomson adds: “I am very pleased to be appointed to the PSA Board. I’m looking forward to working with the Board and Executive over the next three years to protect and advance the interests of consumers in this diverse and innovative market.”

The Phone-paid Services Authority is the regulator for content, goods and services charged to a phone bill. Phone-paid services include donating to charity by text, digital content including apps and music streaming charged to a phone bill, directory enquiry numbers and television voting and competitions.

Thomson is currently Director General for Her Majesty’s Passport Office, UK Visas and Immigration and sits as on the Home Office Executive Committee.  Previously, Mark spent 30 years with the Royal Mail working in various senior level roles across the business.
