Alan Jones’ devoted butler who once served the royal family, has quit working for the radio host after 18 years of service.

David Allan dutifully worked for Jones for at least 18 years, but is no longer under the employment of the Sydney-based shock jock.

Mr Allan has completed almost two decades of service at Jones’ multimillion-dollar home at The Bennelong apartments, overlooking Sydney Harbour.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the pair decided to go their separate ways and Jones is not impressed.

While he confirmed that his butler was no longer under his employment, he did not choose to elaborate on why.

When Mr Allan was asked for why he was no longer working for the radio host, he also refused to give a reason.

‘Yes, that is correct, after 18 years I am no longer his butler but I have nothing further to add,’ he said.

The butler is believed to have signed a non-disclosure agreement with his boss, but friends say he played a crucial role in Jones’ life.

Mr Allan, who has also worked for the British royal family, made sure things ran smoothly in Mr Jones’ everyday life.

He would begin his day in the early hours of the morning, making sure Jones was awake and ready to head to work at 4am.

Later on in the day he would then prepare a three-course meal for Jones and any guests he desired.

Mr Allan’s resignation comes after 22-year-old Jake Thrupp, a media commentator, forged a firm friendship with the radio host.
