Tornado rips through party island Ibiza during half-term leaving three injured – World News

Half-term holidaymakers were left stunned after a tornado tore through Ibiza injuring three people.

The deluge was captured by tourists in dramatic footage showing torrential rain during the storm on the party island.

The area of Sant Antoni was worst hit by the tornado which hurt three people when it lifted a builder’s mobile work cabin off the floor.

Reports say that all three men were take to hospital for treatment for minor injuries.

Holidaymakers were urged to drive with caution by police after the bad weather left roads flooded and downed trees.

British tourists having a break on the island during half-term week took to social media to post dramatic pictures.

Sophie Kelly, from Cornwall, posted a video of the wild storm on Twitter , saying: “Just experienced a tornado in Ibiza. Scary stuff.”

The storm is expected to also hit mainland Spain

British musician Lovely Laura also shared footage of the powerful winds with a tweet: “Woke up to this today!”

According to Euroweekly news , Rubén del Campo of the State Meteorological Agency, said: “The most complicated moment of this episode is expected between this afternoon and tomorrow, where the rainfall is expected to intensify.”

Parts of mainland Spain are also forecast to be affected by the storms including Catalonia.
