Police say a shocking number of knives are being shipped into the Country and are ending up in the hands of children.
Greater Manchester Police launched an operation after the death of Yousef Makki, who was stabbed in Hale Barns in March. The knife used had been ordered online.
Officers are now investigating a number of websites that are selling weapons at cheap prices.
WATCH: Superintendent Chris Downey shows us some of the lethal weapons seized so far
Police are now working alongside the Royal Mail and the UK Border Control to intercept packages as they come into the county.
Supt. Downey said, “Most of these items are coming from China. The packaging is almost identical each time, making it easy for Royal Mail staff to spot. They will then contact Border officials who can legally open the parcels.”
“This operation is all about educating those who don’t realise it’s a criminal offence to order these weapons. We will be given the names and address of those who have placed orders and we will be paying them a visit.
