A LIMITED-EDITION Aston Martin that featured on a rare stamp has sold for a staggering £607,000.
The 1965 DB5 was handpicked by the Royal Mail in 2013 to feature on a set of stamps which celebrated the best cars in British car making history.

The GT model received plenty of interest when it went under the hammer at Silverstone Auctions.
The Aston Martin was originally bought in 1988 by Colin Storm, a businessman who worked as the managing director of Burger King and Guinness, before being sold in 2002.
After being printed on the one-off stamp, the car was then bought by radio presenter Chris Evans who kept it for 12 months.
The former Top Gear host then sold it to a private dealer, who changed its colour from blue to a 007-inspired silver.

The DB5 is powered by a three litre engine and boasts an eye-catching red leather interior.
The set of motoring stamps featured six much-loved British cars, including a 1961 Jaguar E-Type, 1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, 1962 MG MGB and 1976 Lotus Esprit.
A spokesman for Silverstone Auctions said: “While the DB5 is always associated with the James Bond films, this car has its own fame as it was the car used and featured on a special collection of stamps produced by the Royal Mail in 2013.
“Later that year the car was sold Chris Evans, who is well-known as a passionate classic car collector.
“A set of these stamps is included in the extensive history file.”

Andrew Hammond, director of stamps and collectibles at Royal Mail, previously said: “This is a fantastic set of stamps that feature a collection of the very best in British motor car manufacturing in the 1960s and ’70s.
“These cars are classic in every sense and we are delighted to be bringing a reminder of these iconic motor cars to the nation’s doorsteps through this latest stamp issue.”
Another rare Aston Martin previously owned by Sir Elton John could be yours for just under £30,000.
