Hundreds of Christmas temp jobs available in Birmingham – Selfridges, German Market, Royal Mail and more

New data shows there’s currently more than 20,000 Christmas jobs available in the UK – including hundreds in Birmingham.

This makes the festive season is the perfect time to earn some extra cash.

With December 25 fast approaching, you’d be forgiven for worrying how you are going to make ends meet.

Luckily, though, plenty of employers from across Birmingham and throughout the West Midlands region are putting out the call in a bid to get some extra help.

Topping the list of companies looking for Christmas staff across the nation are Tesco, Sports Direct, Royal Mail and Sainsburys.

But it is not just traditional retail roles that are boosting vacancies in the run up to Christmas.

Some of the more seasonal roles include, Christmas elves, Christmas Fragrance Consultant, Christmas relief Chef and Santa’s seasonal helpers.

To help local Christmas shoppers find opportunities to make a little more cash, job search engine Adzuna has compiled a list of all the temporary Christmas jobs in Birmingham .

Among them is House of Fraser shop assistants, paying up to £8.25 per hour, as well as Body Shop, Selfridges and Ernest Jones festive staff.

You can also apply to be a sales assistant at Sports Direct in Yardley, paying up to £8.25 per hour, with Soho Coffee requiring a Barista for its branch inside Debenhams.

Meyart Flavoured Coffee, situated at the German Christmas Market, needs a supervisor, paying £9 per hour, and Industria Personnel Services needs C+E drivers for £14 per hour.

General assistants at Funstation, in Star City, are needed, as are New Look sales assistants in Erdington, Perry Barr and Birmingham city centre.

The Royal Mail also wants Christmas casuals, and will pay £9 per hour.
