Royal Mail looking for posties in Leicester and here’s what they’re paying

Are you looking for a job that lets you spend plenty of time outdoors, and could even help you keep fit?

Then a job with Royal Mail could be right up your street.

There are a number of roles being advertised in Leicestershire right now, including traditional postie roles – and a few other jobs too.

Here’s what’s being advertised right now.

Postman/Postwoman with Driving & Callers Office Duties

These roles are based at the Leicester North Delivery Office in Belgrave.

From scorching summer days to the depths of winter, postmen and postwomen play a vital role delivering the mail.

Royal Mail say it’s a physically demanding job – but it’s one the nation relies on.

You’ll be working flexible hours from 8.30am to 8pm in these permanent roles, and sorting for and walking your route as well as covering for colleagues.

It takes some four to six hours to cover a round outdoors.

Royal Mail is looking for posties

There’s also roles that will include shifts in the Callers Office, managing customer enquiries as first point of contact when a customer comes to collect their parcels.

You need to be fit, organised, upbeat and love the outdoors, says Royal Mail.

Pay is hourly, £10.46ph 18+, and £8.13ph age 17.

Parcelforce Collection and Delivery Driver

If walking a beat isn’t for you, Saturday drivers are needed for Parcelforce.

The roles are permanent, but only for six hours a week to start.

You’ll need to safety check your vehicle and you’ll need to be licenced to drive up to 3.5 tonnes.

Also, you need to be able to lift parcels weighing up to 30kg.

Cleaning Operative

Royal Mail is also hiring cleaners to be based it its East Midlands Airprot hub.

You’ll be working part time but the role is permanent, and it pays £8.21 per hour.

You will be responsible for variety of tasks including mopping, toilet cleaning, washing walls, vacuuming, emptying bins and dusting.
