Meghan Markle loses a NINTH member of staff as top aide who ran the Sussex Royal foundation quits

Meghan Markle has lost her ninth member of staff in just 18 months after a top aide tasked with running the Sussex Royal foundation quit her role.

Diversity campaigner and social entrepreneur Natalie Campbell has left for a new job after just five months.

Ms Campbell – who was heralded as Harry and Meghan’s big hire to lead the foundation – will become the chief executive of water company Belu.

She was originally poached from William and Kate’s Royal Foundation in August to work with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The latest departure signals the ninth staff member to ditch the Sussexes since their royal wedding in May 2018.

The turnover have frequently raised eyebrows and prompted claims that the couple have not endeared themselves to staff with reportedly dictatorial behaviour.

According to The Sun, the list comprises two press aides, a private secretary, a deputy private secretary, Meghan’s PA, a female bodyguard and two nannies.

Ms Campbell worked with Meghan on her Together cookbook which highlighted the Hubb Kitchen.

The Hubb Kitchen was a support group that formed to provide fresh meals for those affected by the Grenfell fire tragedy in Kensington, west London.

Ms Campbell will start her job at Belu at the start of March and released a statement confirming the move.

She said: ‘It is a career highlight to be joining Belu at such an exciting time for the business and the social enterprise movement more broadly.

‘I have been an admirer from afar for the last 10 years; leading Belu into the next 10 – continuing purposeful growth and changing lives as a result – is a privilege and honour.

‘The world needs more businesses that put the environment, human rights and sustainable practice at the core of their values and operations, I can’t wait to get started’.

Harry and Meghan’s staff makeup has undergone constant change since the couple married in the summer of 2018 and created the Sussex household.

The first big departure was Harry’s private secretary and ‘right hand man’ Ed Lane Fox, who announced he was quitting ahead of the wedding.

Senior communications secretary Katrina McKeever – a point of liaison for Meghan’s family during the first months of the couple’s relationship – quietly left the Kensington Palace press office in September.

In November of that year, Meghan’s personal assistant Melissa Toubati is said to have handed in her notice after the duchess had ‘left her in tears with her demands’.

Miss Toubati had previously worked for X-Factor judges Robbie Williams and Ayda Field.

When she resigned as Meghan’s personal assistant, a palace source was authorised to praise her and the role she played organising the royal wedding.

Two months later, a female royal protection officer also quit her job as the top bodyguard for Meghan.

The officer, who has not been named for security reasons, had been head of Meghan and Harry’s security for less than a year when she left the role.

At the time, a Scotland Yard spokesman said: ‘It’s for personal reasons and absolutely nothing to do with the duke or duchess, who are hugely disappointed at losing her.’

In March 2019, it was announced that Meghan’s deputy private secretary Amy Pickerill would be leaving her role following the birth of Archie in May.

The Duchess of Sussex described the loss as ‘very sad’, with sources insisting the split was amicable with Ms Pickerill moving abroad.

She played a key role during last year’s Royal tour to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga, including helping to whisk Meghan to safety during a scare at a market.

That same month, Jason Knauf quit his senior role as a communications secretary for both the Sussexes and the Cambridges to become the chief executive of the The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Following the birth of Archie in May, Harry and Meghan went through two nannies before eventually hiring a third that is thought to still be in the role.

October of that year saw perhaps the biggest departure when private secretary Samantha Cohen quit the high-profile role.

Ms Cohen resigned and took up a volunteer job with Cool Earth, an organisation that aims to halt tropical deforestation.

This week, it was announced yet another top aide would leave her role, with the Sussex Royal charity foundation’s Natalie Campbell quitting her post.

Prince Harry arrives in Vancouver, Canada to begin his new life with Meghan and Archie.

Harry flew on to Vancouver Island via WestJet, the same carrier that Meghan is said to have taken

Hours later Harry landed on a BA flight to Vancouver Int (left). Harry flew on to Victoria airport on a smaller plane and smiled as he arrived having been away from his wife and son for almost two weeks
