Kate Middleton stuns royal fans with ‘hands-on’ behaviour during engagement | Royal | News

Kate visited the Evelina London Children’s Hospital yesterday morning to see with her own eyes the creative workshop set up by the National Portrait Gallery. During the visit, which allowed the Duchess of Cambridge to see how two of her patronages work together for the wellbeing of children, Kate was more “hands-on” and looked more comfortable than in the past, according to one royal correspondent.

The Daily Mail royal expert, Rebecca English, analysed the Duchess’ high spirits and keenness to sit down with children, joke with them and take part in their workshop as an evolution in Kate’s behaviour.

She wrote on Twitter: “A thought from today’s visit by the Duchess of Cambridge to @EvelinaLondon.

“Kate was noticeably more hands-on than I’ve seen her before, posing for umpteen pictures with patients and generally seemed more sure-footed.”

Ms English then suggested that this “change” in Kate’s behaviour could have been prompted by the so-called Megxit – Meghan and Prince Harry’s decision to step down as working royals to live a freer and more private life.

The royal expert said: “A post-Megxit change? Who knows?

“But it went down well with patients.”

Twitter users and royal fans had a mixed reaction to this analysis.

One argued Kate has “always” looked more hands-on with children than adults.

They continued: “She has always been hands-on with children.

“They seem to be her favourite engagements and she really enjoys them.

“This has nothing to do with Megxit.”

Another argued Kate may simply have grown into her royal role with the passing of the years to the point she is considerably more confident with the public.

They said: “She seems so much more confident at engagements now (compared to when she first married William).

“Very warm & engaging too!”

A third, on the other hand, seemed with Ms English’ analysis, saying: “Well, she’s got the monarchy on her shoulders now.

“She’s showing she’s up to the challenge, *happily*.”

Another royal fan said: “She seems more relaxed for sure!”

Kate stepped out again today to visit a nursery school in South London.

The Duchess of Cambridge served breakfast to children and discussed how important it is for the development of youngsters to provide them with nutritious and good meals.

During the visit, Kate also revealed that as many as 100,000 people have already taken part in the survey she launched last week – ‘Five Big Questions On The Under Fives’.

Speaking about the nationwide poll, which will run until February 21 and analyses what can impact the most the development of children during the first five years of life, she said: “It’s great to visit places like this where communities come together to support one another.

“Last week I launched a UK wide survey on early childhood because I want to hear society’s views about raising the next generation.

“I’m so happy that over 100,000 people from all across the UK have already completed it, and I can’t wait to see the results.”
