‘Romantic’ Prince William will ‘make Kate Middleton feel special’ with a date night on Valentine’s Day, a royal expert has claimed.

Commentator Katie Nicholl revealed the Duke of Cambridge, 37, would be keen to treat the Duchess, 38, on Friday and likely give her a card and ‘a thoughtful gift’ for the romantic day.

With the royal family going through a difficult time following the departure of Prince Harry, 35, and Meghan Markle, 38, Katie said the Cambridges had become ‘closer than ever’.

Speaking about the royal couple’s plans for Valentine’s day, Katie told Okay! magazine: ‘There’s a sweet side to William so I’m sure there will be a card and a thoughtful present for Kate, and perhaps a quiet dinner at home.’

Katie revealed that while Prince William ‘may not admit to it’, deep down the royal father-of-three is ‘a bit of a romantic’.

She said he would likely plan something nice for Kate on Valentine’s Day,  revealing the couple might even go out for a meal at their favourite Italian restaurant in Kensington, close to their home in the palace.

However she added that because it is ‘very hard’ for them to go anywhere discreetly, they may opt for a meal at home together instead.

She said the parents-of-three would likely use the day as an excuse to spend a much-wanted evening together after a busy few weeks.

Katie added that the couple, who have known each other since they met as students at St Andrews University in 2001, had ‘no secrets’ between them and were closer than ever after nine years of marriage.

She said that Kate had been able to bring out the best of William and had helped him transform from someone who was ‘a bit stiff’ to a more fun version of himself.

She went on to say that Prince William had also finally achieved a strong family unit which he had long desired growing up and ‘adored’ being a father.

She said: ‘He finally has what he always wanted as a boy growing up – a tight close family unit. That’s why he looks so happy.’

Last week, a body language expert revealed how Prince William and Kate seemed to have relaxed their ‘hands-off’ policy in public.

Speaking to FEMAIL, Judi James suggested that the small arm and back touches shared between the couple during their visit to Mumbles last week is to combat the loss of the ‘hugely tactile’ Prince Harry and Meghan since their move to Canada.

She added that the ‘constant touch’ could be keeping the communication alive non-verbally when the royal parents are out in public.
