Royal fans have claimed baby Prince Edward looks like his great-nephew Prince Louis after the Royal Family shared a sweet throwback snap of the Earl of Wessex to celebrate his 56th birthday on Tuesday.

Taking to the official Instagram account, the Queen, 93, paid tribute to her youngest son, sharing a picture of Edward as a baby in 1965, alongside Prince Philip, and a young Prince Charles, Princess Anne and Prince Andrew.

‘Happy birthday to The Earl of Wessex, who celebrates his 56th birthday today,’ the caption read.

But royal fans couldn’t help but notice the striking similarity between Edward and Prince William and Kate Middleton’s youngest son, Prince Louis, one, at the same age.

Elsewhere one even claimed: ‘Prince George looks exactly like young Prince Edward’.

Edward was born on 10 March 1964 and is the third son and youngest child of The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

The Earl of Wessex spent his birthday visiting a local community centre in Mersea Island alongside his wife, Sophie Wessex.

He looked delighted to be handed a giant yellow birthday card from a young local, shortly before he opted to elbow bump rather than shake hands with a fan amid the growing concerns for coronavirus.
