Next-day parcel arrives THREE YEARS late to stun Scots mum

When Lisa Burgess ordered her make-up to be delivered within 24 hours, she was stumped when it didn’t arrive.

However, the hairdresser got a bolt from the blue after it turned up on her doorstep – three years later.

The 44-year-old paid £16 for a bareMinerals Well-Rested For Eyes Concealer after spotting it on beauty website GorgeousShop.com.

Salon owner Lisa placed her order on July 4, 2017, and forked out an extra £5.99 for next-day delivery.

She was left disappointed when the item didn’t turn up on July 5 and was later refunded by the online firm.

But the mum of two got a shock last Wednesday when she received the parcel, which appeared to be stamped by courier firm Hermes.

Lisa, of Dunfermline, said: “I noticed the parcel was a Hermes parcel with a next-day delivery sticker. I hadn’t ordered anything so opened the parcel wondering if it had been my daughter.

“I looked at the invoice and it was my details and that’s when I checked the order date – which said July 2017. I never expected that three years later it would finally arrive.”

Lisa, who owns hairdressing salon Copper Blossom in Dunfermline, added: “I’m really surprised to have finally received it after nearly three years. It has caused a lot of hilarity in the salon with our customers.

“However, it’s not the best advert for the site’s next-day delivery service.”

GorgeousShop’s website offers UK express delivery at £5.99 within 24 hours.
