Thousands show up in N.O. looking for disaster food stamps (WWL-TV, Channel 4 New Orleans)

People arrived long before sunup at the St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in eastern New Orleans. By the time the state started taking applications for disaster food stamps around 8 a.m., about a 1000 people were cued up across the parking lot waiting to be processed.
