Boris Johnson joins NHS birthday clap after Super Saturday mayhem and deaths hit 44,220

BORIS JOHNSON joined in the Clap for Carers tonight to mark the 72nd birthday of the NHS.

The Clap for Carers movement ended on May 28, but made a one-off return to celebrate, while public buildings are being lit up in blue.

It comes as pubs, restaurants and hairdressers opened up across England for the first time in months in day dubbed ‘Super Saturday’.

But boozing Brits caused mayhem as thousands of revellers hit pubs and bars up and down the country.

Meanwhile, a former prosecutor is urging police to investigate Dominic Cummings’ alleged lockdown breaches.

The coronavirus death toll in the UK rose to 44,220 after 22 more deaths in Britain and Northern Ireland, making it the lowest Sunday death toll since lockdown began.
