Man knocked unconscious and second hurt as violence erupts at The Royal Oak pub

Police are investigating after a man was knocked unconscious and a second was hurt in a violent pub brawl.

Trouble flared between a number of men at the Royal Oak in Oldbury Road, Nuneaton late on Saturday night, August 15.

One man in his 40s was knocked out while another, of a similar age, suffered injuries to his head and face.

The pub itself and a car parked nearby were also damaged as the violence escalated at around 10.25pm.

A bag containing what was believed to be ‘illegal drugs and cash’ was seized by officers who attended the scene.

An 18-year-old man from Nuneaton was arrested on suspicion of assault and two counts of causing criminal damage.

But Warwickshire Police is still appealing for information and for witnesses to come forward.

They also want to hear from anyone who has video footage of the fight or can identify those involved.

Anyone with information that could help with the investigation are urged to contact Warwickshire Police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting incident 508 of 15 August 2020.
