Coffee & TV adds Creative Directors

The independent visual content studio Coffee & TV has promoted two of its senior artists, Martin Allan [above right] and Steve Waugh [above left], to the position of Creative Directors.

The highly skilled creative pair have extensive experience in leading projects and managing teams to deliver outstanding visuals. Allan heads up Coffee & TV’s CG and animation department, while Waugh has grown the studio’s motion-design team for the last seven years.

Following Coffee & TV’s continued growth and expansion, the promotions mark the studios’ increased in-house capability to execute projects from conception to completion. Allan and Waugh will be on hand to liaise closely with clients and support and guide their campaigns whilst they oversee and boost the creativity on multiple projects across the studio’s visual effects departments.

Allan is a renowned VFX generalist with expertise in animation and CGI. Before joining Coffee & TV in 2015 he held senior creative positions, including Head of Animation at Prime Focus and Head of CG and Animation at Envy Post. At Coffee & TV Allan has crafted and directed some of the studio’s most impressive campaigns for EON.UK and Dreams, as well as the Ciclope award-winning animation for Vauxhall.

Waugh is a highly talented Motion Designer and Director with over 18 years experience working in VFX studios such as Prime Focus, Rushes, Fluid and The Hive. After starting as one of Coffee & TV’s first members of staff in 2012, Waugh has art directed for big brand clients including BBC, ITV, Sky, McLaren, Vauxhall, Facebook, Tanqueray, Royal Mail, and CCTV China. HE has also won a series of top accolades at The New York Film Festival, British Arrows and he was nominated for a prestigious BAFTA.

“Martin and Steve are exceptionally talented artists who have played a key role in Coffee & TV’s growth and success over the last seven years,” said Derek Moore, CEO & Co-Founder Coffee & TV. “Their commitment, artistry and passion for creativity has significantly elevated their departments. The past few months have been extraordinarily challenging for all businesses globally, but we’re proud that the Coffee & TV team has continued to create and deliver exceptional work throughout lockdown. As we emerge out of the Covid-19 pandemic and our industry seeks to gain momentum, we feel this is the perfect time to promote Martin and Steve and recognise the expertise and skill they bring to every project. They’re also pretty decent guys to work with too!”
