Rough deal: PayPal won’t help me after golfing scam | Money

Q In May I responded to an online advertisement for “the perfect practice putting mat”. I paid $32.98 via PayPal and a few weeks later I received two low quality golf balls. I emailed the retailer, Shenzhen Soweway International Logistics, and was offered a 10 per cent refund then 20 per cent to keep the balls.

I said that I wanted either the mat or a full refund, because the balls were of such low quality I would never use them. I raised a dispute with PayPal because the goods were not as described.

PayPal informed me that the goods needed to be returned to Hong Kong. I did so, using Royal Mail Track and Trace, and updated my case file with the relevant tracking
