The coronavirus is continuing to disrupt postal services across the city with some residents claiming they’ve been left with long waits for their deliveries.
People living in different parts of Liverpool, including Wavertree,Childwall and Bootle, claimed they’ve had long delays to their post with parcels, letters and important documents among the items yet to arrive.
One woman from Wavertree, who has asked not to be named, contacted the ECHO after claiming she realised she’d received no letters for the last fortnight.
She said: “I was waiting on important documents and I just realised I hadn’t had any post.
“My dad passed away in September so I’ve had to inform a lot of people and I’m waiting on a lot of stuff.
“My husband went to the sorting office in Wavertree last week to find out what was going on.”
She added: “It’s been two weeks since I had anything. It’s just going to mount up and up.
“It’s happening it different parts of Liverpool and in other places too.”

The woman said they managed to collect the letters they were waiting on from the sorting office but she is still yet to receive anything else through the post.
Other residents living in different parts of the city have also reported similar problems.
One man who contacted the ECHO, described the delays as “ludicrous” with no post arriving “for weeks.”
He said: “People must be waiting for all sorts – cheques, mail order items, appointments.”

Meanwhile, posting in an online forum one woman said: “Still waiting for several parcels in Childwall.
“The tracking on one shows that it was due to be delivered eight days ago! A second was posted first class on Friday and still hasn’t arrived.
“I’m getting parcels from DPD within 24 hours.”

Another said: “I haven’t had any post for over a week in Liverpool, what’s going on?”
A third said: “Royal Mail not delivered in my area for over a week. No letters in two weeks just the odd parcel van in street.
“No letters all week, absolute joke. L20 area Bootle park Street.”
In a statement on their website today, Royal Mail said some areas are experiencing “varying levels of delivery disruption” due to “coronavirus-related absences and necessary social distancing measures.”
A spokesperson said: “Normal deliveries and collections should take place in almost all parts of the UK today; however, despite our best endeavours, some areas are experience varying levels of delivery disruption, due to Coronavirus-related absences and necessary social distancing measures.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience you may be caused.
“We’re working hard to keep any delays to a minimum, while keeping our people and customers safe.
“Please see the Royal Mail Deliveries section below, for details of offices currently experiencing disruptions.”
The ECHO has approached Royal Mail for further comment but did not receive a response by time of publication.
