Clerical Officer – Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust

The Newborn Hearing Screening Service has a vacancy for a part-time, keen and friendly individual to join their enthusiastic and dedicated team of four new-born hearing screeners.

It is based at Ormskirk District General Hospital and the service provides 365 day hearing screening for all newborn babies in Southport, Formby and Ormskirk.

The post holder will supply general clerical and administrative support for the service including booking of outpatient appointments, dealing with enquiries from parents, healthcare professionals and external organisations.

A good level of computer literacy is required along with excellent interpersonal skills. The post holder will be expected to gain a basic understanding of the hearing screening process.

Previous clerical/reception experience preferred.

Domestic Abuse IDVA – Fylde Coast Womens Aid

Fylde Coast Women’s Aid is looking to recruit an IDVA to work within Operation Provide, which is a multi-agency approach to tackle domestic violence and abuse.

This post will involve working in partnership with Lancashire Constabulary and Blackpool Teaching Hospital. This post will be predominately based at the Lancaster Police Station and within the community.

The job advert said: “As an IDVA you will provide a domestic violence service to victims who have been identified via the police. The role includes attending reports of domestic violence and abuse or revisits with police officers to ensure that the victim receives early access to IDVA support.”

It adds: “You will have strong communication skills and experience of partnership working, as the role will involve maintaining effective multi-agency relationships and adhering to statutory protocols and procedures.

“You will work to ensure safety, confidentiality and risk minimisation for victims of domestic abuse, supporting and enabling them to access services which maximise their safety and which support their emotional, physical, intellectual and social wellbeing.”

It is a fixed contract until Mach 31, 2021.

Emergency Medical Technician 1 Apprentice (Band 4) – North West Ambulance Service

North West Ambulance Service is embarking on an apprenticeship programme for Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT).

The apprenticeship will take a minimum of 13 months, commencing with 20 weeks training (you will be given two weeks as annual leave).

For the first 12 months you will receive 70% of the top of Band 4 (£16909.89) and move to 75% of the top of Band 4 (£18117.75) after 12 months.

Upon completion of your apprenticeship you will eligible to move onto a full Emergency Medical Technician 1 contract of employment.

It will consist of 14 weeks classroom training and for weeks emergency “blue light training”.

The advert says: “As an apprentice, you will work alongside other EMT staff and Paramedics initiating and delivering appropriate care and effective treatment to patients in both a hospital and pre-hospital environment.”

Essential for the role is a minimum of 5 GCSEs including Mathematics, English Language and a Science at Grade 4-9 or equivalent.

While candidates with healthcare experience are desired. You should also hold a valid EU driving license.

Candidates with healthcare experience and GCSEs in Mathemat ics and English Language at Grade 4-9 or above, or equivalent will be considered.

Library Assistant – Lancashire County Council

As a library assistant you will support the delivery of library and information services to ensure a high quality service, support the delivery of activities and events, assist customers to access online information and resources and encourage use by a wide range of customers.

Senior Drugs Reporting Officer – Lancashire Police

Applications are being invited for the post of senior drugs reporting officer, within the scientific support drugs team, based at Lancashire Police’s headquarters.
