DYFED-Powys Police is urging residents not to fall for an email scam pretending to be Royal Mail.
The scam sees the victim receive an email claiming to be from Royal Mail stating that they tried to deliver a parcel – then asks that person to pay £1.99 to arrange redelivery.
A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “The style makes the scam appear legitimate.
“It directs you to an official-looking page designed to enter your bank details.
“Do not click on the link.
“Think – how would the Royal Mail know my email address?
“If you have been the victim of a payment scam, report it via Dyfed-Powys Police website, call 101 or forward the email to report@phishing.gov.uk”
