Postbox where kids can send letters to Father Christmas installed in Leamington

A festive postbox where children can send their wish lists to Father Christmas has been installed in Leamington town centre.

Families will find Santa’s Post Box on the Parade, at its junction with Regent Street.

Children will get a special mini light show as they post their letter, confirming it has been whizzed off to Lapland.

And parents will also be able to download a reply from the Love Leamington website which can then be personalised.

It is part of the town’s Covid-safe Christmas attractions from BID Leamington.

And if senders include their contact details on the letter, they could be in with a chance of winning £200 worth of goodies.

Stephanie Kerr, executive director of BID Leamington, said: “Santa’s Post Box is a new and fun initiative we have launched to celebrate Christmas as part of a host of attractions to encourage people into the town centre during December in a Covid-safe manner.

“When children post their letter to Father Christmas, they can push a button which will activate a little light show to signal it being sent to Lapland, and if they include their contact details, could win a selection of treats worth £200.

“Santa’s Post Box will be another draw for people to come into the town centre in the run- up to Christmas to enjoy the festivities and support businesses on their doorstep by shopping local.”

People are reminded that this is not a real postbox and is not associated with the Royal Mail, so do not post real letters there.

There is also no need to use a postage stamp!
