Princess Eugenie shows gratitude to key workers in Thanksgiving post

Princess Eugenie has shared a heartfelt message to mark Thanksgiving, using the opportunity to pay tribute to frontline workers.

The royal, 30, who is pregnant with her first-child, took to Instagram to say she’s thankful for those on the Covid-19 frontline for their ‘incredible dedication and perseverance’, as well as charities supporting those in need.

She also shared an adorable selfie with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, a picture of their pet terrier, and of a beautiful red tree, writing she was grateful for nature, family and animals.

Prince Andrew’s daughter concluded by wishing a good Thanksgiving to all those celebrating the American holiday.

The mother-to-be certainly has a lot to celebrate – in addition to the impending arrival of her first child, she is also believed to be moving into Prince Harry and Meghan’s Windsor home, Frogmore Cottage, ahead of the birth.

‘And I’m thankful for nature and all it gives us – a constant in 2020 when things have been so uncertain,’ she said, sharing a picture of a beautiful tree full of red leaves.

‘Happy Thanksgiving to all those celebrating it today,’ she concluded.

This comes after announcement that her cousin the Duke of Sussex, who relocated to Los Angeles with his wife Meghan Markle and their 15-months-old Archie earlier this year, had given her the keys to Frogmore Cottage, in Sussex.

Eugenie and Jack had up until now been living at the Ivy Cottage at Kensington Palace, but were reported to have moved into the Windsor property two weeks ago, according to the Sun.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who currently reside in an £11million mansion in California, are said to have emptied the house in what an insider claims is a ‘pretty strong sign’ the couple have ‘no plans to return.’

Earlier this month, Princess Eugenie admitted she’s ‘very lucky to have had her health throughout both lockdowns’ and is ‘grateful that her father-in-law is alive’ after he spent five weeks on a ventilator while battling coronavirus.

She was speaking during an Instagram Live with charitable accessories firm Together Band,  in her role as co-founder of the Anti-Slavery Collective.

Speaking with co-creator of Together Band Cameron Saul, Eugenie revealed: ‘Lockdown’s been OK for me. I can’t believe we’re on lockdown 2.0, as everyone’s calling it…

‘I’m very lucky to have had my health throughout number one and number two and I just can’t really begin to imagine what people are going through, who are getting ill.’

She also opened up about her father -in-law, George Brooksbank, who contracted coronavirus and was hospitalised in March.

The 71-year-old thankfully recovered from his life-threatening battle with the virus and returned home earlier this summer.

‘My father-in-law was quite ill in lockdown one,’ she recalled, ‘so I am so grateful that he is alive, that there are so many incredible people out there fighting for everyone’s lives.’

The youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, Eugenie officially announced she was expecting via Buckingham Palace in September.
