Olaf, Elsa and Sven

Rachel Williamson, who has been knitting for 50 years and has been creating rainbow and vibrant coloured hats for postboxes during the lockdown – much to the delight of residents – said: “I created about 40 post post box toppers over the first lock down and the response I had was absolutely amazing. I had no idea of the effect they would have on people when I put the first one out.

“I decided to do 12 for Christmas to spread a little cheer. However, two of my gorgeous grandsons live in Kinmel Bay and they asked for a topper on their post box, hence the 13.

“We put them all on the Sunday (November 29) and again the response was lovely.

“People were knocking on the windows and coming out to take pictures as we were doing them. It’s just lovely to see.”
