Celebrating delivering more than half a billion items of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the NHS and care homes, Royal Mail is to livery many of its vans to remind the public of its important role in fighting the pandemic.
The liveried vehicles will have the phrase “Delivering millions of items of PPE to health and care staff” as well as the Royal Mail branding will be deployed across the UK.
Between April 2020 and today, the postal operator has delivered more than 500 million PPE items to health and social care organisations in need across the UK on behalf of the government.
As well as PPE, Royal Mail has been a key partner in the delivery and collection of millions of COVID-19 home testing kits.
Nick Landon, Chief Commercial Officer at Royal Mail said: “Half a billion items of PPE delivered is an amazing milestone and a testament to the efforts of everyone across Royal Mail over the last eight months to help keep the UK safe and connected. Everyone at Royal Mail could not be prouder of our support for healthcare workers in their fight against the pandemic by ensuring the regular and safe delivery of essential PPE.”
