Full list of most festive street and house names across the UK

THE most festive street and house names aross the UK have been revealed – and it shows where in the UK takes the crown.

New Royal Mail research has revealed that seven per cent (more than 23,000) of the nation’s named homes sport a Christmas-related title.

While detailed analysis of the company’s Postcode Address File has revealed that more than 50,000 UK streets and houses bear a name relating to the festive season.

King Street is the most popular festive-linked street name in the UK, alongside ‘Ivy Cottage’ for houses.

There are also more 7,600 addresses in the country bearing the term ‘Holly.’

Aside from London, York is officially the UK’s most festive city, with 480 Christmas-related named addresses.

Market towns and cities with a rich history, including Guildford, Lincoln and Banbury, also feature prominently on the list.

Some of the nation’s most festive, and unusual, address names include ‘Church Bell Sound’ in Cardiff, ‘Christmas Pie Avenue’ in Guildford, Surrey and ‘Tinsel Lane’ in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.

What Royal Mail is saying

Steve Rooney, Head of Royal Mail’s Address Management Unit, said: “Street, house and building names chiefly reflect our nation’s heritage and primary interests.

“The enduring spirit of Christmas clearly extends well past December 25 in the UK, as so many festive terms are resonant in the names of our streets and houses.”
