The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s travel and logistics officer has been made a Member of the Royal Victorian Order by the Queen.

Tifare Alexander, who has worked for Prince William and Kate Middleton, both 38, for more than eight years, has been recognised for his service to the couple in the New Year Honours.

The Fijian-born former Paratrooper – known as Tif – is part of the Cambridges’ small household which includes their nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo.

A royal insider previously told The Sun the Fijian, who performs odd jobs and the occasional bit of chauffeuring for the couple, is ‘a lovely guy — like all Army, a superb can-do attitude and great sense of humour’.

In the past he has been photographed driving Kate to official events and been spotted working in the background.

Also recognised is Scott Furssedonn-Wood, deputy private secretary to the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, who is also made a Member of the RVO.

Mr Furssedonn-Wood is a career diplomat who was British Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata from 2013 to 2016.

He has accompanied Charles and Camilla on many of their official overseas tours and in November was part of the couple’s entourage when they visited Germany.

Tif follows in the footsteps of other members of the royal household to be honoured.

Last November, Prince William shared a smile with his elated housekeeper of six years after he awarded her with an honour at Buckingham Palace.

Antonella Fresolone, 48, who is originally from Italy, has managed the domestic affairs at Prince William and Kate’s home for six years.

Before joining Kate and William’s staff, Antonella worked as one of the Queen’s most senior housemaids and spent 13 years at Buckingham Palace.

She joined the household shortly before Prince George’s birth, and even travelled with the couple from their home in Anglesey, before taking on Amner Hall in Norfolk and Apartment 1A in Kensington Palace.

The £23,000-a-year position comes with a staff apartment at the palace and Antonella, with her strong work ethic, was considered a ‘shoo-in’ for the post at the time.

First established by Queen Victoria in 1896, the Royal Victorian Order is chosen at the Queen’s discretion, and is often awarded to those who have served the monarch or the royal family with dedication.

The medal has three levels: bronze, silver and gold, with Antonella made an honorary silver medallist.
