List of mobile speed camera locations in Gloucestershire this week

There are far fewer cars on the roads, but that can mean speeders will stand out even more.

Mobile speed cameras are being deployed around the county this week in a bid to reduce the risk of collisions and injuries.

Law-flouting drivers risk fines, points and prosecution depending on their speed.

Below are the locations which are set to be visited at least once per week during the month of January.

  • A435 Cirencester Road, Charlton Kings
  • Copt Elm Road, Charlton Kings
  • Waterwells Drive, Quedgeley
  • Barrow Hill, Churchdown
  • B4213, Tirley
  • The Heath, Redmarley
  • Siddington
  • A429 Hollow Fosse

The mobile speed vans are operated by Gloucestershire police, and support the Police and Crime Commissioners’ Plan priority ‘safe and social driving’.

The mobile speed detection vans operate at over 80 sites across the county and prioritise site activity by examining speed and accident data including intelligence received from communities.

In an effort to reduce speeding in areas across the county, the priority sites will be advertised each month.

Visits to the other sites will continue but emphasis will be placed on the advertised locations.

The Mobile Camera Enforcement Unit said the presence of a speed camera will encourage drivers to change their behaviour and drive at a lower, safer speed.

It adds: “This will help to improve the quality of life for people living in these areas and improve the safety of the roads for all those who use them.”

And it’s not just the mobile ones you have to be aware of as there are also a number of community priority sites.
