Potentially deadly drug-laced sweets intercepted at Royal Mail sorting office

Royal Mail staff have intercepted a shipment containing drug-laced sweets.

Police officers from Royal Wootton Bassett attended the local sorting office following a report that the gummy sweets had been found and held by the team there.

The sweets are believed to be laced with drugs, but no further information has been provided by Wiltshire Police.

“Please be aware that these could be on the streets and could be easily mistaken for normal sweets”, a force spokesperson said.

The sweets were seized by officers and an investigation is ongoing.
