Grantonians get scam warning from local post office

The manager of Grantown’s Total Mail delivery office has posted a warning to customers about a text scam aimed at the town

Beware the scammers, says local PO

.

Allan Cameron last night posted:

“Hi my name is Allan CameronDelivery Manager with Royal Mail. I was hoping to share with members the fact there are SCAM texts on the go in many areas but I believe targeting Grantown at present.

“Everything looks like it is a Royal Mail text in terms of logo and details informing you that a delivery has been attempted and you need to rebook.

“The delivery then goes on to charge a fee.

“Please just delete the items as we would never use this form of contact the only contact.

“It would be either a Red P739 ‘Sorry I missed you’ or a grey surcharge card.

“Hope you can share this thanks Allan.”
