The legend of King Arthur is set to be retold in a series of stamps released by the Royal Mail today.
The set of ten depicts famous Camelot folklore, from young Arthur drawing the sword from the stone to Sir Lancelot defeating the dragon.
Other scenes drawn by concept artist Jaime Jones include Merlin cradling Arthur as a baby, Sir Galahad and the Holy Grail, and Arthur taking the sword Excalibur from the Lady in the Lake.
Royal Mail said the tales of Kind Arthur have “captivated people for a millennium and a half”.
The set goes on sale today (March 16).
The Royal Mail’s Philip Parker said: “These atmospheric illustrations bring to life the timeless stories of the king and the knights of the round table.
“With its themes of magic, chivalry and quests, the enduring legend of King Arthur has entranced for centuries and will continue to do so.”
