Is there post on Good Friday, will there be post on Easter Monday?

Britons are looking forward to a rare four day bank holiday weekend this week, with the Easter weekend just days away. This marks the second Easter bank holiday spent in lockdown, however, Britons are now allowed to meet up to six people or two households outdoors.

Bank holidays are national public holidays and this weekend commemorates the Christian festival of Easter – marking when Jesus died on the cross and subsequently rose again three days later.

As the name suggests, over bank holidays banks close their doors and some businesses also cease trading.

With non-essential businesses not permitted to open, this may impact Britons less this year – however, supermarkets may have reduced hours this weekend.

But what about the postal service, what does the bank holiday mean for post?
