Goodwill gesture helps keep family on track after package confusion | The Crusader | Finance

Justin Mason signed up for Chapterhouse Publishing’s proof reading and editorial course late last year, paying £146 in the hope it would improve his skills and chance to get work that he could fit round caring for his very poorly mother. He claimed the package, purchased via his PayPal account, didn’t arrive and his queries as to what had happened and attempts to get a refund had slowed to a halt.

“This money means a lot,” he told Crusader. “Mum and I don’t have much, please help.”

We took his plea to Chapterhouse and it did its homework, showing the pack was tracked by Royal Mail, was delivered and signed for within the purchase timeframe. 

“Postal workers are currently required to check the name of the recipient and sign on their behalf,” said a Chapterhouse spokesperson.

“We have asked the customer several times to raise a dispute with PayPal so that we could resolve the matter.”

Justin has now done this and has received the course fees payment, a goodwill gesture from the company helping just a bit his and his mum’s difficult situation.
