Morton Fraser has appointed restructuring and insolvency lawyer Yvonne Brady as its new head of strategy for restructuring and insolvency.

The position has been created by the law firm specifically for her and she began the role this week.

Brady’s career spans 30 years in the restructuring and insolvency market in Scotland.

She joins from Shepherd and Wedderburn, where she was partner in corporate recovery, as well as head of diversity, development and inclusion.

Brady has also held roles at DLA Piper and HBJ Gateley – now Addleshaws – as well as being a trustee on the board of Quarriers and convenor of the Law Society of Scotland Insolvency Specialists Committee.

Chris Harte, chief executive at Morton Fraser, said: “Yvonne brings a wealth of experience in a field that will prove crucial in Scotland’s economic recovery from the pandemic and means Morton Fraser continues to have the right people offering clients the best advice possible.”

Brady added: “It is no secret that Scottish businesses are facing challenges navigating the financial difficulties brought upon by the pandemic.

“I am looking forward to helping the team at Morton Fraser work with clients to offer the best advice possible to help them reset and head in to the ‘new normal’ in as strong a position as possible.”
