Princess Anne joined her brothers, son, husband and nephews today to lead the procession to St George’s Chapel ahead of her father Prince Philip’s funeral.  

The royals all sported mourning dress and not military regalia, but did display their service medals.   

Like her elder brother, The Princess Royal wore the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal Naval medal.

Like her elder brother, The Princess Royal wore the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal Naval medal. The Olympian, 70, also displayed the Queen's Service Order (QSO) (New Zealand), the Coronation Medal, the Silver Jubilee Medal, and the Golden Jubilee Medal, the Diamond Jubilee Medal, which was given to members of the Royal Household as well as the armed forces, prison service, and emergency services, prison service to mark the Queen's sixtieth year on the throne.

She also had her Order of St John medal to mark her 30-year association with the St John’s Ambulance as well as the Canadian Forces Decoration.

As with other senior royals, Princess Anne holds a number of appointments in the armed forces of Commonwealth realms, but has never been part of active service. 

She is an honorary Rear Admiral and is Chief Commandant of Women in the Royal Navy.

Anne was joined today by her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, who showed his medals reflecting many years of military service.  

Of those in the procession, Anne’s son Peter Phillips and her cousin David Armstrong-Jones were the only two without medals on display.

The Garter Star is the most prestigious British order of chivalry, which The Prince of Wales was awarded in 1958.

The Prince Of Wales also wore the Queen’s Service Order,   which was awarded to him in New Zealand in 1983, to recognise ‘valuable voluntary service to the community and faithful services to the Crown’

Around his neck, Charles wore the Queen’s Coronation medal, commemorating the year his mother took the throne, as well as medals to mark The Queen’s  Silver, Gold and Diamond Jubilees.

There was also his Canadian forces decoration. The Duke of Cornwall was awarded this in 2002 in recognition of his 32 years of service as Colonel In Chief of the Royal Canadian Regiment, as well as his  New Zealand Commerative medal which he was awarded in 1990.

The other medals included his Naval Long Service and Good Conduct Medal to mark the good conduct of armed forces personnel. 

Prince Andrew, who served in the Navy during the Falklands war also displayed his medals.

The former helicopter pilot was recognised with his South Atlantic Medal in 1982.

Her Majesty’s second son was also awarded the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Medal and the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal like his siblings. 

The Duke of York also displayed his New Zealand Commemoration Medal, which he was awarded in 1990 and his Canadian decoration in 2001 and also wore the   

The youngest of the Queen’s children, The Earl of Wessex displayed the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee medal,  Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee medal and Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal during today’s funeral.

Like his father, William has a Garter star on display as he is a member of the Order of the Garter.   

Meanwhile, Prince Harry displayed the Afghanistan Operational Service Medal in 2008 for service in Helmand Province. 

Charles’ youngest spent 10 years in the Army and served  two tours of Afghanistan.

The royal also had the his KCVO Neck Order, which is awarded as part of the Royal Victorian Order – a monarchical order of knighthood, which was given to Harry in 2015 by the Queen ‘for services to the sovereign’.

Of those not in the procession, the Queen’s cousins Duke of Kent and Duke of Gloucester also displayed their medals.

He also wore the King George Coronation Medal, the The Queen’s Coronation Medal  Order of St. Michael and St. George, the UN Peace Keeping Medal (Cyprus), the Golden Jubilee Medal, the Silver Jubilee Medal and the Diamond Jubilee Medal.

Duke of Kent also displayed the Sierra Leone Independence and the Guyana Independence medals Long Service Medal with three clasps, the Canadian Long Service Medal with two clasps.

Another of the Queen’s cousins, the Duke of Gloucester wore his Garter Star as well as the  Coronation Medal, the Silver Jubilee Medal, the Golden Jubilee Medal and the Diamond Jubilee Medal.

He also had the Service medal of The Order of St John and the Badge of Honour, New Hebrides, and 1978 Solomon Islands Independence Medal.
