Former Royal British Legion club in Birmingham filled with more than 500 cannabis plants

A former Royal British Legion club in Birmingham was found to be filled with cannabis plants.

Police officers had been called to reports of suspicious behaviour at the club in Bells Lane, Kings Norton, yesterday morning (April 17).

When they arrived they found a large cannabis factory” – with more than 500 plants packed into the building.

In a video filmed by police, an officer walks into a room and shines a torch over the mature cannabis plants.

The room has been kitted out to grow the Class B drug, with lights hanging from the ceiling, loose wires and fans running.

Two people have been arrested.

Brandwood Police tweeted: “Officers called to some suspicious behaviour at Kings Norton British Legion club yesterday morning.

“Large cannabis factory discovered inside, 2 under arrest and over 500 plants seized!”

The building has been empty since April 2017 and has become dilapidated.
