West Ham United’s Karren Brady sees MBA school fail | Business

Baroness [Karren] Brady has had her hands full. As vice-chairwoman of West Ham United FC, she has had to bat off the unwanted advances for the club of little-known private equity outfit PAI Capital in recent weeks, and has also been talking on behalf of the club to “Czech Sphinx” Daniel Kretinsky about buying into West Ham.

The billionaire owner of Sparta Prague FC has bought big stakes in Royal Mail and Sainsbury’s. And now, Kretinsky, 46, is close to taking a 27 per cent stake in West Ham, where Brady works with owners David Sullivan and David Gold.
